Social Networking is a wonderful idea! It is fun catching up with family, finding long lost friends and sharing our marketing tips, events and so on…. but it can become overwhelming and for some an obsession!
there are a few ways to help your self keep your sanity!
Lesson 1 is choose only one
Don’t fret — you can pick one to focus one and as we will show you in future posts, you can still have a presence on others.
First, why are you social networking? Do you want to keep up with all the gossip? Are you only there to market? Do you need business to business advice or connections? Perhaps it’s the gaming? or the Birthday reminders? What ever it is it is important to know.
In knowing you will be able to decide which networks work the best for you. Plaxo, Facebook, Google+, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc all have different abilities and themes. You want to work in the networks that will support you.
Second, how much time do you have? Some networks take a lot of time – reviewing posts, answering messages, plus keeping yourself away from all of the distractions. Others such as twitter are quick bursts.
Third, know your target audience. Where are they? If all of your associates are on one network it would be reasonable to choose that one to focus on.
You can register for several and see how they fit but don’t over tax yourself. We will systematize your adding friends, posts and more coming up!
